Microgaming has expanded its presence in Indian online poker
Microgaming has expanded its operations in Indian online poker market by adding Poker Yaar.
Yaar will be in one row with Khelplay, PokerNation and Mercury Poker, which joined last August the segregated online poker network that works only in India.
Aman Shahpuri, Commercial Director at Poker Yaar owner Club Empire says: “Poker Yaar will completely revolutionize the skilled gaming sector in India. With state of the art technology and a customised product for the Indian market, we aim to take poker mainstream and give an entertainment platform to our target audience.”
Main competitors for the network are Adda52, Khelo365 and PokerBaazi. Indian market of online poker increases significantly: the average cash game traffic has increased almost in two times over the last quarter of 2017 in comparison with the same period in the year before. It is 716 games played in the same point of time.
Local poker rooms, mentioned above, also compete with international rooms, which provide an opportunity for indian players to play on dollars or euros with european players and all other poker lovers from all over the world. On the other hand, some companies, especially The Stars Group, can start cooperation with local poker rooms to offer exclusive Indian online poker services and have more power in the competition for emerging Indian market.
“We want to be the number one online poker platform in India and working with Microgaming and their world-class poker product puts us in the best possible position to achieve this,” says Aman Shahpuri.
“It is fantastic to welcome yet another dynamic, young brand to our Indian Poker Network,” said Jean-Luc Ferriere, Director of Network Games at Microgaming. “We’ve made significant progress with the network, particularly in product and operations through 2017, and 2018 only promises even bigger and better things. We are extremely positive about the prospects of this important segment, and now is a great time to get involved!
