PokerStars plans to deploy a powerful marketing campaign in the last quarter of 2018

The Stars Group, the parent company of PokerStars, has announced that their Indian website is in the very beginning of its conquer of the market. According to the words of The Stars Group CEO Rafi Ashkenazi, the company hasn’t started to promote the poker room at full capacity, and they are planning to lead intensive marketing campaigns in the 4th quarter of the year. Ashkenazi admits that the site is not quite ready to compete successfully in the market yet:

“It’s very early days for India. To an extent I can say that the product is not really ready for the market. There are few elements that we still need to — few gaps that we still need to close before we start our marketing campaign, probably in Q4, more towards Q4 of this year. So, if you can refer India currently as a soft launch with increased focus on this market probably starting in Q4.” – says Rafi Ashkenazi.

What work is done by PokerStars by now?

The company has started its operating by partnering with two companies: Sugal & Damani Group and its subsidiary Sachiko Gaming Pvt.Ltd. This enabled PokerStars to create a local ring-fenced website and lead daily operations in India.

There is no information about profits or losses of the company in India, but the overall global revenue in the 2nd quarter was $217 million.
